Hey everyone! I know it’s been over a week since I last posted. It’s been a challenging time of figuring out why I wasn’t losing more weight, and how to get that jump started again. I just didn’t feel like posting. I apologize.
In my pre-op class with Ocala Health, the Bariatric Program Coordinator told us that if we don’t get the required 60-80 grams of protein per day along with enough calories that our bodies would not shed the weight like we expect. Yes, the gastric bypass surgery is a great tool, but it must be accompanied with following the nutritional guidelines we were given or it won’t work. So, over the last week, I spent time examining what I had been eating and drinking, and realized that I had not been getting enough protein or overall food. Today is Wednesday. On Monday, I started getting back to basics.
Amazingly, I have finally dropped a couple more pounds in the last two days. This morning, when I stepped on the scale, I weight 303.8, which gives me a total weight loss of 45 pounds! I’m almost to that elusive 300 barrier! Yes, I’ve already moved my 2 marbles this morning!
I hope everyone is well, healthy, and continuing to be encouraged by these posts. Please feel free to comment on these posts, and follow this blog. I love the interaction, and the thought that this blog may be used to give encouragement to others dealing with post-operative care from bariatric surgery or those who are needing it.
